This position oversees financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for the NYC Projects The Finance and Accounting Director is responsible for managing day-to-day project financial processes to ensure contract compliance. Responsibilities: Manage forecast updates and the annual budget Gather information and business intelligence, analyze data trends, identify root cause(s) and provide information to team members and department leadership Conduct short term and long term forecasting analysis to identify workload issues Prepare financial documents for budget planning Evaluate the impact of changing assumptions on projected financial futures Perform annual budget process via the preparation of assumptions and variance analysis Interface with all departments and all levels of management to obtain budget and forecast information Manage costs and streamline processes within departments Formulate variance explanations for changes in significant costs and/or financing assumptions Prepare forward-looking financial statements, develop the annual budget, and perform ad hoc analysis Conduct and manage practical solutions from a cost vs. benefits viewpoint Develop pricing strategy and implement procedures to ensure compliance with policy Develop and recommend practices and procedures to ensure financial reporting controls are in place, and work with other departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures Conduct pro forma financial statements, projections and success metrics for project initiatives Oversee, review, and approve the work of staff in the following areas: Invoicing; Accounts Payable/Receivable Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Working hours: M-F he Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university At least five (5) years of experience in general ledger, financial analysis/budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, accounting, and financial systems maintenance At least three (3) years of experience working with government contracting At least four (4) years of people or project management experience preferred Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of existing business processes based on in-depth industry knowledge of organizational and/or client objectives Ability to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance Ability to negotiate with internal and external customers to gain desired outcome Expert skill level in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting programs Familiarity with ERP accounting systems and tier one reporting systems (e.g.) Cognos Ability to work under standards-based performance measures and ability to successfully manage many complex tasks simultaneously Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to perform comfortably in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously And ability to work as a team member, as well as independently Randstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
