General Description of Position: The Policy Services Coordinator is responsible for calculating the rates and premium amounts due us from our customers for the products that we provide to them, and preparing policies and billings for our customers. Analyzing data from Underwriters' instructions, insurance policies that are expiring, computer programs and rating manuals, calculating and recording premium rates due from our customers for insurance policies, endorsements, and audits, applying pricing modification factors to premiums, completing and reviewing worksheets, writing scratch copies of policy forms and indicating information on expiring policies from which new policies will be processed, and completing sections of premium coding accounting records for each processed transaction and verifying corrections is involved in the work of the Policy Services Coordinator. The Policy Services Coordinator regularly works with Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters to clarify issues that should be considered in calculating premium rates; with the Policy Services Technical Specialist to clarify technical issues; and with members of the Accounting department if discrepancies arise in the account coding of premium amounts due from our customers. The position is important to us because it helps us to maintain our reputation for consistent, high quality service by quickly and accurately providing premium calculation information to our underwriting staff and policies to our customers. Working hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm A.-Analyze data from such documents as Underwriters' Routing and Instruction sheets, expiring policies, computer programs, and rating manuals. B.-Manually calculate and record premium rates for policies, endorsements, and audits. C.-Input applicable rating information into computer rating system. D.-Apply modification factors to premiums as indicated on Pricing Worksheets. E.-Complete Rating and/or Audit Worksheets and review the worksheets for accuracy. F.-Write scratch copies of all appropriate forms and/or indicate pertinent information on expiring policies from which new policies will be typed. G.-Complete appropriate sections of Premium Coding Abstracts. H.-Confirm basic rating computations on Rating scratch copies for each policy. I.-Type appropriate information on Policy Declaration pages and direct to the appropriate Underwriter for approval. J.-Compile and type appropriate information to complete policy forms, including binders and certificates. K.-Coordinate the assembly and distribution of policy copies to brokers, insureds, companies, and agency files. L.-Organize the contents of Underwriting file folders, which includes replacing old policies and attaching copies of cover letters, and forms. M.-Mail prepared cover letter, policy documents, and invoices to brokers, insureds, and companies. -N.-Enter policy data into computer system to generate customer billings. 0.-Review the work of peers for quality and accuracy and provide them with appropriate feedback. P.-Sort and redirect incoming mail, including maintenance and matching of suspense items. Q.-Ordering and receiving Motor Vehicle Reports and Exposure Audits from approved vendors.
