Position Summary The ideal candidate is expected to provide support for the global cloud applications developed by Software Engineers at Brady. A strong knowledge of monitoring systems, deployment automation and operating systems is required in addition to a passion for working with new cloud-based technologies like AWS and Azure and pushing the envelope on existing technologies. As Operations Support Engineers you will be expected to build or enhance your own tools, develop and operate best practices, and always think and act proactively and innovate. Working hours: 1st shift Duties --Guide junior engineers in all responsibilities of an Operations Support Engineer, as detailed below --Assist in designing and implementation of incident management processes --Get there first; be the first to detect and diagnose service impacting events --Provide critical technical support, incident response and incident management for online applications --Collaboration with level three resolvers --Drive down mean time to resolution for all incident types --Automate select systems administration tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools --Website and corporate load balancer configuration and troubleshooting --Troubleshoot networking issues with the network engineering teams --Provide monitoring support for all tier one customer-facing services --Engage disparate resolver teams to resolve application/platform interaction issues --Create and review documentation and processes regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc. Qualifications --A degree in Computer Science or at least five years relevant experience in a large-scale online technical operations environment --Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills to facilitate efficient and effective interaction with junior engineers, peers and customers --Strong knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems and good understanding of networking concepts --Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proven documentation methodology --Must be able to work in a "follow the sun" rotation across and including weekends and holidays --Experience leading junior engineers with definition, implementation, and rollout of new processes, tools, and practices --Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure --The ability to correlate system behaviors based on known inter-dependencies between those systems Randstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
